Rental Terms & Conditions

SPYDER VIDEO rental terms

By renting from us, you agree in full to all terms and conditions herein.

Ownership - The equipment is, shall be and remain, the property of the Rentor and the customer shall have no right, title or interest therein or thereto except as expressly set forth in the agreement. This agreement is not intended to effect a sale of the described property, nor to secure a purchase thereof.

Equipment is rented for the time it is “out” and not the time it is “used”. Equipment shall not be removed from the Continental United States. Customer shall use the equipment in a careful and proper manner and shall comply with and conform to all laws, ordinances and regulations relating to the possession, use, or maintenance of the equipment. Without previous written consent, customer shall not lend the equipment, or any part thereof, or allow it to be used other than by customer or it’s employees.

Rentor does not guarantee this equipment for any particular fitness of purpose or legality. It is the customer’s responsibility to make such evaluations. No other guarantee or warranty, expressed, implied or statutory, is included. Rentor is not liable for any incident, commercial damage, commercial loss, business interruption, or consequential damages as a result of use of this equipment, or this equipments failure. All equipment is used at customer’s risk.

Customer assumes the entire risk of loss and damage, unless damage insurance is purchased, for any cause whatsoever. In the event of loss, damage or disappearance of any kind, to any item of equipment, customer shall pay Rentor full value as deemed by Rentor. Customer agrees to all charges for rental, damage and replacement of equipment and if necessary, all collection fees, attorney’s fees, court costs, or any expense involved in the collection of charges. Should litigation become necessary, Rentor agrees that nothing done will be in violation of company’s state law. This agreement is governed by laws of the State of California.

Conditions which prevent satisfactory operation of the equipment do not relieve customer of it’s responsibility for the equipment, which is to be returned to Rentor in as good condition as it was received. Customer is responsible to notify Rentor immediately of any failure of the equipment, which precludes customer from using it. If this should occur, the equipment needs to be returned immediately and Rentor will ship the required product to customer, allowing for a make up of all unused time. If the equipment arrives damaged, notify the UPS driver and contact Rentor immediately. If customer does not notify Rentor that same day, damage will be considered damage during use and not damage during shipping. This will require payment by customer.

An adult (over 18 years of age) must be present to receive the equipment from UPS. If no one is available to sign, equipment will not be delivered on time. UPS will attempt to re-deliver the following business day. No refund will be given because of delayed delivery. Rentor will extend the rental, by an equal amount of time, if either Rentor is late in shipping, or UPS is late in it’s first attempt to deliver. Customer may want to consider allowing extra time if planning to record a specific event.

Customer may extend the rental. If rental is for 15 days and customer keeps the equipment for a second 15 day period, that does not qualify customer for the special 30 day rate. The 30 day rate is only accepted if the original rental is for 30 days.

All equipment returned to Rentor, must be sent prepaid, by UPS, third day or better. Late returns will be charged the equivalent of one third (1/3) of a 15 day rental, or one half (1/2) if the return runs longer than five days late. If customer neglects to return some of the accessories, when the camera(s) is(are) returned, such as a remote control, customer will not be charged extra as long as the missing part is returned within 5 days of the main equipments return. Customer will be charged freight for the missing part(s), or can simply ship it back via UPS, prepaid.

For some orders, Rentor may request a security deposit, which will place a “hold” on customer’s credit card. When applicable, this deposit will be shown during the checkout process on our web site. This deposit is released as soon as the equipment is returned undamaged. Rentor may request a copy of customer’s driver’s license and credit card. This may be scanned and uploaded, faxed or emailed.

Rentor does not accept prepaid debit cards or reloadable money cards. A debit card, such as a Visa check card that is linked to your bank account is accepted. Customer may cancel an order, until the equipment is shipped. Once UPS has picked up the product from Rentor, the order can no longer be canceled.

Scheduled rental rates begin when equipment is delivered by Rentor to customer and continue until returned. Customer understands that the credit card will be charged for the next period of rental equipment by the end of the agreed rental period.
