Helpful hints for A successful surveillance
It is important to plan on recording in an area that is often experiencing theft, vandalism or other crimes, or to leave something tempting in the cameras view to help catch frequent instances of crimes.
Try to keep the camera as close as possible to the area that you want to record.
Test and make sure that you can identify the person or object that you need record.
Try to set up the camera so that light falls between the camera and what you wish to record.
If light is only behind the subject, the person may appear dark and hard to recognize.
While video surveillance is a legal way to catch criminals, it is not legal to place a camera in any area where people have an expectation of privacy. If you are not sure of your situation we recommend that you consult with a knowledgeable attorney.
